Elevator
KONE MonoSpace® is a machine-room-less
elevator concept inspired by the invention of the EcoDisc®
hoisting machine technology. Slim and disc-shaped, the
machine fits inside a standard elevator well fixed to
the guide rail, with the controller built into the door
frame at the top landing. The result is an elevator that
needs no separate machine room -just the president car.
Easier Building Design
No machine room and no loads on
the well structure mean easy integration into building
designs. In most buildings the MonoSpace® replaces
all other types of elevator.
Construction Cost Savings
The MonoSpace® elevator saves
construction time, materials and cost. The installation
requires no craneage or scaffolding. Streamlined delivery
process, pre-assembly and efficient installation methods
ensure fast site times, taking the elevator off the
project’s critical path. Further cost savings result
from the low power use, which allows for the use of
smaller fuses and a smaller electric system.
Increases Profitability
Elimination of the traditional
machine room maximises the rentable, productive space
in buildings. This advantage (increased profits) combines
with the cost savings of building a seperate machine
room.
Complies with EU Directives
KONE MonoSpace® comply with
the EU directive on elevators n. 95/16/CE and with ISO
9001 quality assurance requirements. The European directive
introduced stricter safety requirements like the presence
in the cabin of a two-way communications system in permanent
contact with a 24-hour assistance center (KoneXion).
